Hope Caravan launches “Ramadan Brings Hope” aid campaign ahead of holy month
With the holy month of Ramadan fast approaching, Hope Caravan (Umut Kervanı) has announced the start of its annual aid campaign under the theme “Ramadan Brings Hope,” aiming to reach millions of people in need in Türkiye and across the world.
As Ramadan—a month described as beginning with mercy, continuing with forgiveness, and ending with salvation—draws near, the organization is preparing for a large-scale humanitarian effort. The first day of fasting will begin on Thursday, February 19, marking the start of an intensive period of relief work.
According to a statement from Hope Caravan’s headquarters, the organization will carry out a wide range of social assistance activities throughout Ramadan, both in Türkiye and in crisis-hit regions abroad. As part of the campaign, iftar tables will be set up in areas affected by poverty, conflict, and hardship. In locations where communal iftars are not possible, hot meals and iftar packages will be delivered directly to families in need.
The organization also renewed its call to donors and supporters, stressing the importance of solidarity during the holy month. Hope Caravan said it will continue to distribute zakat and fitrah donations to vulnerable communities, particularly in Gaza, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Sudan, and several countries across Africa, in addition to ongoing efforts within Türkiye.
Calling for collective compassion and action, the statement urged the public to take part in easing the suffering of those in need. “This Ramadan, let us heal wounds, bring abundance to tables, smiles to faces, and hope to the days ahead,” the organization said. “Together, let us continue to rebuild hope.” (ILKHA)
