Hundreds of thousands across Türkiye participate in nationwide Siyer Exam
Hundreds of thousands of people across Türkiye, including tens of thousands in the southeastern city of Diyarbakır, took part in the Siyer Exam organized by the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation (Peygamber Sevdalıları Foundation) under the slogan “Read Him, Live Him.” The nationwide event drew participants from all age groups, ranging from children to elderly citizens.
The Siyer Competition, held with the aim of encouraging the study and practice of the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), was conducted in four separate categories tailored to different age groups.
Yakup Kaya, a member of the Board of Directors of the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, said the most valuable outcome of the initiative was not the exam itself, but the preparation process, during which participants read, studied, and sought to apply the teachings and life of the Prophet in their daily lives.
Speaking after the exam, Kaya described the event as a major milestone for the foundation. “We were very excited. Praise be to Allah, we completed our exam smoothly and without any problems. Participation was remarkably high in Diyarbakır and throughout Türkiye. Alhamdulillah, this love for the Prophet continues to grow day by day, like a snowball,” he said.
Kaya explained that the competition was organized in four categories: students in grades four and five, students in grades six through eight, high school students, and adults. He noted that interest in the Siyer Exam has increased steadily each year, with many participants preparing by reading the designated book multiple times.
“We have personally witnessed people who read the book 10 to 15 times before taking the exam,” Kaya said. “For months, participants study the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and make a sincere effort to reflect what they learn in their lives. God willing, as a result of this dedication, some participants will be rewarded with the opportunity to perform Umrah.”
Addressing the announcement of results, Kaya said the evaluation process is underway and results will be shared in the coming days. He added that question-and-answer review programs for the first and second categories would air on Rehber TV at 4:00 p.m., followed by programs for the third and fourth categories at 8:00 p.m., allowing participants to assess their performance.
Kaya concluded by emphasizing that the true reward of the competition lies beyond prizes. “We will soon announce the winners and, as a small gift, send some of our participants for Umrah. But the greatest reward is learning the life of our Prophet and striving to live by his example. That is the most valuable gain for all of us.” (ILKHA)
