Israeli settler militias attacked the Palestinian village of Jiljilya, north of Ramallah, at dawn on Wednesday, setting fire to a local mosque and spraying it with hateful, racist graffiti.

According to local residents and Palestinian sources, armed settlers descended on the village, torching parts of the mosque and defacing its walls with inflammatory slogans aimed at intimidating and terrorizing the Palestinian population. While initial reports indicated no immediate injuries from the fire itself, the attack forms part of a broader, systematic campaign of violence by illegal Israeli settlers against Palestinian communities, their homes, farms, and holy sites.

Local sources reported that during the wider assault involving nearby areas like Sinjil and Jiljilya, Israeli occupation forces opened fire on Palestinians, killing 16-year-old Yusef Ali Kaabneh (also reported as Yousef Ali Yousef Kaabnah). The teenager's death underscores the lethal protection often afforded to settler attackers by the Israeli military, which frequently stands by or actively enables such pogroms.

This latest outrage reflects the intensified wave of settler violence across the occupied West Bank since the escalation of Israel's actions in Gaza. Palestinian officials and human rights monitors have repeatedly condemned these attacks as state-backed terrorism designed to displace indigenous communities, seize land, and erase Palestinian presence through fear and destruction.
