Greek PM visit to Türkiye for high-level talks with Erdoğan
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is set to arrive in Ankara on Wednesday to attend the Sixth Meeting of the Türkiye–Greece High-Level Cooperation Council, held at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to official statements, the meeting will comprehensively review bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries and explore avenues to advance cooperation across multiple fields. In addition to bilateral ties, regional and global developments are also expected to feature prominently in the talks.
Presidency Communications Director Burhanettin Duran previously stated that the summit aims to assess relations “in all dimensions” and to discuss opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Türkiye and Greece. He also noted that several documents intended to reinforce bilateral relations may be signed during the visit.
Greek media reports indicate that Mitsotakis will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, National Economy and Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Christos Dimas, Citizen Protection Minister Michalis Chrysochoidis, Education, Religious Affairs and Sports Minister Sofia Zacharaki, Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Yiannis Kefalogiannis, Migration and Asylum Minister Thanos Plevris, Culture Minister Lina Mendoni, and Deputy Foreign Minister Haris Theocharis.
International media have also highlighted the visit as part of ongoing efforts to sustain dialogue and reduce tensions between the two countries, particularly amid broader regional challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond.
The Ankara meeting is seen as a continuation of recent diplomatic engagement between Türkiye and Greece, reflecting a mutual emphasis on dialogue and institutional cooperation. (ILKHA)
