Four Palestinians injured as Israeli settlers attack homes and farmland in West Bank
Four Palestinians were injured on Wednesday after Israeli settlers attacked homes and agricultural land in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
The assault also resulted in significant damage to farmland, with around 60 trees uprooted and destroyed during the incident.
Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhameh told the Palestinian news agency WAFA that heavily armed settlers stormed the Wadi al-Rakhim and Khallat al-Homs areas, where they attacked Palestinian homes and agricultural land.
Makhameh said four Palestinians sustained injuries after being sprayed with pepper spray during the assault. The wounded were transferred to Yatta Government Hospital for medical treatment.
He added that settlers also carried out extensive destruction of farmland belonging to local resident Jibril Rumi, uprooting approximately 40 olive trees and 20 forest trees.
According to Makhameh, the attackers also blocked the road connecting the Khallat al-Homs and Wadi al-Rakhim areas, restricting movement and further isolating residents during the incident.
Local activists described the attack as part of a broader pattern of settler violence targeting Palestinian communities and agricultural land in the occupied West Bank.
The incident comes amid continued tensions in the occupied territories, where Palestinian communities have repeatedly reported attacks on homes, farmland, and infrastructure.
Residents and activists have called for increased protection and international intervention to prevent further escalation of violence and to safeguard civilian property in rural areas of the southern West Bank. (ILKHA)
