İstanbul Technical University and Karabakh University sign academic cooperation agreement
İstanbul Technical University (İTÜ) and Karabakh University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Education and Scientific Cooperation, formalizing a new academic partnership between Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
The agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by President of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) Erol Özvar and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev.
Özvar stated that the protocol represents a new cooperation initiative on behalf of the higher education systems of the two countries.
According to the memorandum, the parties aim to ensure the mutual exchange of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as academic staff.
The agreement also covers the conduct of joint research projects and scientific studies, along with the sharing of scientific knowledge and academic materials.
In addition, the protocol envisages the development of double-degree programs in areas of mutual interest. It further includes plans for the joint design and management of education and research laboratories for the Faculty of Engineering at Karabakh University.
YÖK President Erol Özvar noted that the agreement would deepen academic interaction and strengthen joint scientific output. He congratulated İTÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and Karabakh University Rector Shahin Bayramov on the signing of the cooperation protocol.
Özvar also expressed his thanks to Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev for his contributions to the process. (ILKHA)
