Türkiye's defense and aerospace exports soar by 54% in April
Türkiye's defense and aerospace industry reached a new milestone in April 2025, with exports climbing to $539 million, marking a 54% increase compared to the same month last year, according to figures shared by the Presidency of Defense Industries.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter) account, Haluk Görgün, President of the Defence Industry, announced that the sector had hit a new export peak. “In the January-April period, total exports reached $2.238 billion, representing a 67% year-on-year increase, while the 12-month rolling total rose to $7.635 billion, up by 42%,” Görgün stated.
He emphasized that these figures reflect not a temporary achievement but the result of consistent, strategic progress within the sector. “These are not just momentary successes but clear signs of a determined and strategic rise,” Görgün noted. “As the Presidency of Defense Industries, we are committed to ensuring the sustainability of these exports by focusing on high-tech and high value-added products.”
Highlighting the growing contribution of both major defense corporations and small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Görgün stressed the importance of collaboration across the industry. “Together, we will further strengthen this chain of success—from large-scale companies to SMEs. I sincerely congratulate all our industrialists, labourers and stakeholders who have contributed.”
Görgün concluded his statement with a call to action: “For a growing Türkiye built on national technologies, keep working non-stop!”
The remarkable performance underscores Türkiye's growing role as a competitive exporter in the global defense and aerospace market, supported by continuous investment in domestic innovation and technology development. (ILKHA)
