IHO EBRAR delivers critical food aid to vulnerable families in Ethiopia
The international humanitarian organization IHO EBRAR has distributed essential food aid packages to hundreds of vulnerable families across Ethiopia, providing critical relief in regions severely affected by food insecurity and widespread hardship.
In many parts of the country, access to basic staple foods has become a daily struggle, particularly for low-income households and displaced communities. Responding to urgent needs identified through preliminary field assessments, IHO EBRAR teams directly delivered nutritional support to families in impoverished neighborhoods and remote rural villages.
The aid packages contained long-lasting staple goods and a variety of food items designed to meet daily nutritional requirements. Volunteer teams personally handed the supplies to beneficiaries, ensuring assistance reached those most in need.
Mehmet Zülküf Yılmaz, a representative of IHO EBRAR, confirmed the launch of the organization’s relief efforts in the region. "As the international humanitarian organization IHO EBRAR, we are in Ethiopia, Africa. We have started our aid activities here," Yılmaz told ILKHA.
"God willing, in this first phase we distributed food packages to hundreds of people today. With the donations entrusted to us, we provided food assistance to displaced, oppressed, poor, orphaned, and many disabled individuals, in order to offer them at least a small measure of hope," he added.
Yılmaz extended gratitude to the donors who made the campaign possible, stating: "May Allah be pleased with our brothers and sisters who donated. God willing, we hope He enables us to do even more."
Families receiving the aid expressed profound thanks for the support, emphasizing that the assistance arrived at a critical moment. Many beneficiaries noted that the organization’s presence and solidarity provided not only material relief but also much-needed moral support during an exceptionally difficult period.
Ethiopia remains one of Africa’s most vulnerable regions due to a combination of climatic shocks, economic challenges, and displacement. Humanitarian organizations like IHO EBRAR continue to play a vital role in bridging gaps in food security, though long-term solutions and sustained international support are urgently needed to address the root causes of the crisis.
