Türkiye’s construction production rises 28% annually in October
Production in Türkiye’s construction sector surged by 28.0 percent on an annual basis in October 2025, according to data released on Monday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
Based on the construction production index (2021=100), all major subsectors recorded strong year-on-year growth. The construction of buildings index increased by 28.8 percent compared with October last year, while the civil engineering index rose by 21.8 percent. Specialised construction activities posted the strongest annual performance, climbing by 29.9 percent.
Despite the sharp annual expansion, monthly figures pointed to a more mixed picture. Overall construction production edged down by 0.1 percent in October compared with the previous month.
At the subsector level, the construction of buildings index declined by 0.2 percent on a monthly basis, while specialised construction activities fell by 0.6 percent. In contrast, the civil engineering index increased by 1.4 percent, providing partial support to the sector.
The data indicate that while Türkiye’s construction industry continues to show robust momentum compared to last year, short-term activity has softened slightly on a month-to-month basis, reflecting uneven dynamics across subsectors. (ILKHA)
