Six Palestinians die of starvation in Gaza as famine deepens under Israeli blockade

Medical sources in the besieged Gaza Strip reported on Saturday that six Palestinians, including a child, lost their lives in the past 24 hours due to starvation and acute malnutrition.
The latest deaths bring the total number of starvation-related fatalities in Gaza to at least 382 since the onset of the current crisis, including 135 children.
Doctors in local hospitals say new cases of malnutrition and hunger are arriving every hour, with health facilities overwhelmed by the sheer number of patients. Around 900,000 children in the territory are suffering from hunger, and more than 70,000 are already in critical condition, according to medical reports.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate as Israel maintains its blockade and prevents the entry of food, medicine, and other vital supplies. The famine has grown inseparable from the broader genocidal war waged by Israel since October 7, 2023, which has devastated infrastructure and displaced millions.
Since March 2, 2025, Israeli occupation authorities have sealed all crossings into Gaza, effectively halting the flow of humanitarian aid. Relief organizations warn that this closure has sharply accelerated the spread of famine, placing the entire population of the Strip at risk of mass starvation.
Human rights groups and aid agencies have condemned the use of starvation as a weapon of war, calling on the international community to pressure Israel to immediately lift its siege and allow unhindered delivery of life-saving assistance. (ILKHA)
