School shooting in the Philippines leaves three students dead, five injured
Three students were killed and five others wounded after two gunmen opened fire at a high school in the central Philippines on Monday, authorities said.
The shooting took place at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, where approximately 1,500 students are enrolled. Police said the two male suspects carried out the attack inside the school premises, causing panic among students and staff.
Authorities confirmed that three students died in the attack, while five others were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police said two suspects were taken into custody in connection with the shooting. One of the suspects was identified as a student at the school, according to investigators.
Following the incident, security measures around the campus were intensified and additional police officers were deployed to the area.
