Over 20 aid agencies urge immediate action to halt Gaza genocide

More than 20 international humanitarian organizations have issued an urgent call to the United Nations and global leaders, demanding immediate intervention to end Israel's ongoing genocidal campaign in the Gaza Strip.
The appeal cites a recent report by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which concluded that Israel has committed four of the five acts of genocide defined under the 1948 Genocide Convention. The commission's findings are based on extensive evidence, including eyewitness accounts, satellite imagery, and expert analysis, and cite four out of five genocidal acts defined under the 1948 Genocide Convention.
The humanitarian organizations warn that the situation in Gaza is the most deadly in the region's history unless urgent action is taken. They highlight the continued blockade and attacks that are depleting life in Gaza, with thousands of civilians being shot while attempting to access food and water. The agencies call on governments to act to stop the violence and end the occupation.
These demands come as the Israeli occupation army continues its operations against Gaza City, carrying out extensive raids and shelling of the northern and western neighborhoods, amid a military campaign involving two divisions of its soldiers, and relentless targeting of buildings and residential towers.
The death toll from the occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 64,964 documented fatalities, in addition to 165,312 injuries. Three deaths due to famine and malnutrition were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths due to malnutrition to 425, including 145 children.
The international community faces mounting pressure to respond to the crisis in Gaza and hold those responsible accountable for their actions. (ILKHA)
