HÜDA PAR and PSK leaders meet to discuss PKK disarmament, Kurdish issue

Bayram Bozyel, General Chairman of the Kurdistan Socialist Party (PSK), met with Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu, General Chairman of HÜDA PAR, at the party’s headquarters on Tuesday to discuss the disarmament of the PKK and potential pathways toward resolving the Kurdish issue.
The hour-long closed-door meeting focused on fostering national unity and dialogue to address these longstanding challenges. Following the meeting, both leaders issued a joint statement expressing optimism about continued collaboration.
Yapıcıoğlu highlighted the role of the parliamentary National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, which was established to advance the “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative. He welcomed the PSK delegation, saying: “We exchanged views on this and other issues. We are ready to make whatever sacrifices are necessary for the good of the nation, and I believe our esteemed guests share the same view.”
Bozyel thanked HÜDA PAR for their hospitality and emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to the Kurdish issue alongside PKK disarmament. He stated: “The PKK laying down its arms and the end of hostilities are important steps, but a fair solution to the Kurdish issue is not yet on the agenda. Weapons and the PKK are a result of the Kurdish issue remaining unresolved, which has harmed both Kurds and Turks for nearly 100 years.”
Bozyel also called for inclusive dialogue among all parties in Türkiye, both inside and outside parliament, to achieve a peaceful and equitable resolution.
Both leaders agreed that sustained cooperation between their parties is essential for advancing national solidarity and democratic solutions. They expressed hope that ongoing dialogue would lead to constructive outcomes in addressing this historic issue. (ILKHA)
