Georgian President to pay first official visit to Türkiye on August 12–13

President Mikheil Kavelashvili of Georgia will pay his first official visit to Türkiye on August 12–13, 2025, at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to a statement by Turkish Presidency.
The visit aims to strengthen the already close relations between the two neighboring countries, with both sides expected to take new steps to enhance cooperation across all fields. Georgia is considered a strategic partner of Türkiye, and bilateral ties span areas including trade, energy, transport, defense, and regional security.
In addition to bilateral issues, President Kavelashvili and President Erdoğan will also exchange views on current regional and global developments. The talks come at a time of heightened diplomatic activity in the South Caucasus, where Türkiye and Georgia have maintained strong coordination on regional stability and connectivity projects.
The two-day visit will include official meetings in Ankara and other engagements aimed at deepening the Türkiye–Georgia partnership. (ILKHA)
