Five more Palestinians die from starvation as Gaza’s humanitarian crisis deepens

The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza continues to claim innocent lives, as medical sources reported the deaths of five more Palestinians, including a child, in the last 24 hours due to starvation and acute malnutrition.
This tragic loss raises the total number of starvation-related deaths in Gaza to 223, among them 101 children—an unbearable toll inflicted by the ongoing Israeli blockade and siege.
Since October 7, 2023, Gaza has been subjected to a brutal genocidal war by the Israeli occupation, which has devastated infrastructure and cut off vital supplies. The situation worsened dramatically on March 2, 2025, when the occupying authorities sealed all crossings to the Gaza Strip, blocking nearly all food and medical aid from entering the territory.
The blockade has plunged Gaza’s population into severe famine conditions, with shortages of basic necessities becoming increasingly deadly. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has warned that malnutrition among children under five doubled between March and June due to these suffocating restrictions.
Similarly, the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that malnutrition levels in Gaza have reached a crisis point, with nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffering from acute malnutrition.
This ongoing siege and starvation policy represents a calculated effort by the Israeli occupation to weaken and subjugate the Palestinian people, ignoring international laws and humanitarian principles.
The global community must urgently break the blockade, open humanitarian corridors, and provide unimpeded aid to Gaza to prevent further loss of life and to uphold the dignity and rights of the Palestinian people under siege. (ILKHA)
