Türkiye's Cabinet to discuss security, economy and regional developments
Türkiye's Presidential Cabinet is set to convene on Tuesday under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with security, the economy, foreign policy and seasonal challenges expected to dominate the agenda.
The meeting at the Presidential Complex in Ankara is expected to focus on a wide range of issues, including border security, inflation, regional developments and measures to address the increased risk of wildfires during the summer months.
Preparations for the upcoming NATO Leaders' Summit, scheduled for July 7-8, are expected to be among the key agenda items. Cabinet members are likely to review Türkiye's final preparations for the summit and assess additional security measures ahead of the gathering.
The government's ongoing "Terror-Free Türkiye" initiative is also expected to be discussed, including progress on planned legislative measures related to the initiative.
On foreign policy, the Cabinet is expected to review regional developments, including the ongoing genocide in Gaza, diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States, the latest situation in Syria, and security issues affecting the Black Sea region and neighboring areas.
Economic discussions are expected to center on the government's fight against inflation, policies aimed at maintaining price stability, market inspection efforts, and measures designed to improve citizens' purchasing power.
Cabinet members are also expected to assess Türkiye's preparedness for the wildfire season. Relevant ministries are anticipated to present updates on firefighting capacity, the readiness of aerial and ground response units, and preventive measures planned for high-risk areas.
Following the meeting, President Erdoğan is expected to address the nation and announce the outcomes of the Cabinet's deliberations. (ILKHA)
