Erdoğan holds phone call with Ukrainian counterpart Zelensky

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss bilateral relations, as well as regional and global developments.
The call, initiated at the request of the Ukrainian side, focused on ongoing diplomatic efforts to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, according to a statement from Turkish presidency.
President Erdoğan praised the progress made in the direct talks hosted in Istanbul, describing them as valuable steps toward a ceasefire and lasting peace.
Reaffirming Türkiye’s readiness to host a leaders’ summit, Erdoğan said he believes forming working groups in the military, humanitarian, and political fields will help pave the way for such a meeting.
The Turkish leader also reiterated Ankara’s continued support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. (ILKHA)
