Türkiye’s overseas producer price index rises 34.16% year-on-year in May
Türkiye's Overseas Producer Price Index (YD-PPI) increased by 34.16% in May compared with the same month a year earlier, while posting a monthly rise of 1.71%, official data showed on Monday.
According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the index rose 17.3% compared with December 2025 and was up 31.96% on a 12-month average basis.
Among the industrial sectors, the mining and quarrying index increased 47.7% year-on-year, while manufacturing prices rose 33.93%.
By main industrial grouping, intermediate goods recorded an annual increase of 31.5%, durable consumer goods 33.73%, non-durable consumer goods 36%, capital goods 23.68%, and energy 104.38%.
On a monthly basis, mining and quarrying prices rose 5.3%, while manufacturing prices increased 1.65%.
Among the main industrial groups, intermediate goods advanced 3.48% from the previous month, durable consumer goods 1.49%, non-durable consumer goods 2.2%, and capital goods 1.62%, while energy prices declined 6.23%.
The Overseas Producer Price Index measures changes in the prices of goods produced domestically and sold to foreign markets.(ILKHA)
