Yemeni Armed Forces strike Israeli targets in solidarity with Gaza

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) launched a bold and sophisticated military operation against Israeli occupation targets on Wednesday, striking at the heart of the occupied Palestinian territories in a powerful show of solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The operation, which involved the deployment of advanced ballistic missiles, temporarily disrupted operations at Ben Gurion Airport and sent millions of Israeli settlers scrambling for shelters, underscoring Yemen’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
According to a YAF statement, the operation utilized two ballistic missiles: a "Palestine-2" cluster missile with multiple independent warheads, marking its second use, and a "Zolfaghar" missile. The attack successfully achieved its objectives, forcing the closure of Ben Gurion Airport’s airspace and triggering air raid sirens across occupied al-Quds, Gush Dan, Sharon, Yarkon, Lachish, and Shomron regions. Israeli media reported that debris from the missile, intercepted by Israeli defense systems, sparked a fire in the central region of the occupied territories, highlighting the operation’s impact.
This latest strike follows a series of five significant YAF operations on Tuesday, which targeted key Israeli military and infrastructure sites, including the Israeli occupation army’s headquarters, the Hadera power station, Ben Gurion Airport, the port of Ashdod, and the MSC ABY ship in the northern Red Sea. YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yehya Saree confirmed that four of these operations were executed using Samad-4 drones, while the attack on the MSC ABY, a vessel linked to the Israeli entity, involved two drones and a winged missile. The ship was targeted for violating Yemen’s ban on entry to ports in occupied Palestine, resulting in a direct hit.
The YAF’s actions come as a direct response to Israel’s escalating aggression, including the recent assassination of Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Nasser Al-Rahawi and eleven senior officials in an Israeli airstrike on Sanaa last week. Major General Mohammed al-Ghamari, Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, condemned the attack as a “heinous crime” and issued a stark warning to the Israeli occupation: “Know well that by committing this heinous crime, you have opened the gates of hell upon yourselves.” He vowed a “harsh and painful” response, emphasizing that Yemen is developing strategic military options to counter Israeli aggression and support Palestine.
“Yemen stands resolute in its support for our brothers and sisters in Gaza, who face daily massacres and a genocidal siege by the Zionist entity,” al-Ghamari declared. He assured the Yemeni people and their leadership that the armed forces are enhancing their military capabilities to deliver impactful retaliatory strikes, promising that “you will hear soon and see with your own eyes what will heal your hearts.”
The YAF’s operations are part of a broader campaign to pressure Israel to end its war on Gaza and lift the crippling blockade that has killed over 52,000 Palestinians, including many women and children, since October 2023, according to Palestinian health officials. Since resuming attacks after Israel broke a ceasefire in March 2025, Yemen has launched dozens of missiles and drones, disrupting Israeli air traffic and international shipping linked to the occupation.
Despite Israel’s claims of intercepting the latest missile, the YAF’s ability to strike deep within occupied territories demonstrates its growing military prowess and determination to challenge the Israeli occupation. The Yemeni Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to continue operations until the aggression against Gaza ceases and the siege is lifted, standing firm as a key member of the Axis of Resistance in support of the Palestinian struggle.
