Two Palestinians killed, 10 injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza
A six-year-old Palestinian girl and a young man were killed and at least 10 others injured on Sunday in Israeli attacks in and around Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources said, highlighting continued Palestinian casualties despite the ceasefire.
Medical sources identified the girl as Suha Mohammed Nasser, who succumbed to wounds sustained after Israeli forces allegedly shot her inside her family’s displacement tent in the Wadi al-Salqa area, south of Deir al-Balah.
The killing of the child underscores the continued danger facing displaced Palestinian families sheltering in makeshift camps across Gaza, where civilians remain exposed to Israeli military activity despite the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, Palestinian young man Saqr al-Qaisi was killed when an Israeli drone struck a vehicle near the al-Hawouz area in Deir al-Balah, according to Palestinian sources.
Israeli forces also continued artillery shelling in the Sheikh Nasser neighborhood, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, according to local sources.
Sunday’s deaths brought the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire that began on Oct. 11, 2025, to 1,446, while more than 5,060 Palestinians have been injured, according to Palestinian medical sources.
The bodies of at least 835 Palestinians have also been recovered during the same period.
The continued deaths and injuries have fueled concerns over the implementation of the ceasefire and the protection of Palestinian civilians, particularly those living in displacement areas.
The latest attacks add to the mounting toll in Gaza, where Palestinians continue to face displacement, destruction and severe humanitarian hardship after years of conflict and Israel’s devastating military campaign. (ILKHA)
