Pilot dies after plane crash near airfield in southwest England
A pilot was killed after a light aircraft crashed near Dunkeswell Airfield in southwest England, prompting an investigation by aviation accident authorities.
According to Devon and Cornwall Police, emergency services were called to the scene near Dunkeswell Airfield in Devon shortly after reports of the crash on Friday morning.
The pilot, believed to be a woman in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that no other people were on board the aircraft.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched an investigation alongside police to determine the cause of the crash.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the pilot or details about the aircraft involved. The cause of the accident also remains unknown.
