Palestinian woman dies as Israeli forces block hospital access near Hebron
A Palestinian woman tragically lost her life on Tuesday evening after Israeli occupation forces prevented her from reaching a hospital at the Beit Einun checkpoint, northeast of Hebron, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The woman, 45-year-old Iman Mohammad Jaradat from the town of Sa'ir, was suffering from symptoms of a heart attack. The Ministry of Health confirmed that her death was caused by the delay inflicted by Israeli forces, who obstructed her urgent transfer to medical care.
This incident highlights the inhumane measures imposed by the Israeli military, which has intensified its restrictions across the West Bank for the third consecutive day. At numerous checkpoints, including Beit Einun, hundreds of vehicles have been forced into long queues, leaving Palestinians stranded for hours.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported a sharp rise in the number of Israeli checkpoints and gates in the West Bank, now totaling 898. Since October 2023, following Israel’s escalation in Gaza, 173 additional iron gates have been erected, with 17 added in just the first few weeks of this year. These barriers severely disrupt the movement of Palestinians, denying them access to essential services, including medical care.
The death of Iman Mohammad Jaradat underscores the devastating consequences of Israel’s apartheid policies, which continue to inflict suffering and violate the basic rights of Palestinians under occupation. (ILKHA)
