Israeli forces arrest 30 Palestinians in West Bank

Israeli occupation forces imposed a curfew on the towns of Biddu and Qatanna in the northwest of occupied Jerusalem on Thursday, while arresting 30 Palestinians in the West Bank and demolishing several homes and a school.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that a large number of military vehicles and infantry forces raided the two towns, imposed a curfew, raided homes, destroyed their contents, and closed commercial shops. The statement added that several young men were taken into custody, interrogated in the field, assaulted, and some were arrested.
According to the Palestinian Prisoners' Society, Israeli forces also arrested 30 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, including Jerusalem. Among those arrested were former prisoners and active community leaders. The arrests took place in Jenin, Salfit, Tulkarm, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Hebron. Since the start of the ongoing tension in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, more than 19,000 arrests have been recorded, excluding thousands of detentions in Gaza.
In related developments, Israeli forces today issued a demolition order for Al-Zuwaidin Middle School, located south of Hebron and east of Yatta. Occupation authorities also demolished dozens of homes belonging to residents of the village of Al-Sir, west of Shaqib Al-Salam in the Negev, an unrecognized community in occupied Palestine. According to the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens in Israel, 25 homes were demolished this morning.
Meanwhile, dozens of Israeli settlers, under heavy police protection, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif compound in occupied Jerusalem. The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem said the settlers entered the mosque complex in groups from Bab Al-Maghariba, conducted provocative tours under police protection, and performed Talmudic rituals.
Over the past week, 604 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa. Jerusalem residents and Palestinians in the occupied territories continue to call for mobilization and presence at the holy site to resist the plans of the occupiers and settlers.
Furthermore, according to Palestinian institutions, at least 19,000 cases of detention have been recorded in the West Bank and Jerusalem since October 7, 2023. This figure does not include the thousands of prisoners in Gaza. ( ILKHA)
