Hamas: Israeli strike on Doha is war on entire Muslim world

The Hamas Movement has strongly condemned a deadly Israeli airstrike on Doha, describing it as both a grave violation of Qatari sovereignty and a dangerous escalation in the Israeli regime’s war on the Palestinian people.
The strike, which targeted a Hamas political delegation in the Qatari capital, killed five senior members of Hamas’s political bureau and a Qatari security officer, and injured several others, including the wife and grandchildren of a senior Hamas leader. Those martyred were identified as Jihad Labbad (Abu Bilal), Hammam Hayya (Abu Yahya), Abdullah Abdulwahid (Abu Khalil), Mu’min Hassouneh (Abu Omar), Ahmed Abdel Malik (Abu Malik), and Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed Al-Humaidi Al-Dosari of the Qatari security forces.
According to Hamas officials, the delegation had been reviewing a new ceasefire proposal personally delivered by Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani when the strike hit, suggesting a deliberate attempt by Israel to sabotage ongoing mediation efforts by Qatar and Egypt.
In a passionate press conference, senior Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum described the airstrike as a “barbaric act of war” against not just Palestine, but the entire Arab and Islamic world.
“This crime in Doha is a direct attack on Qatar’s sovereignty, a provocation to the Muslim Ummah, and a desperate attempt to derail mediation efforts,” Barhoum declared. “This is not just Gaza’s battle – it is a fight for the dignity and freedom of the entire Arab and Muslim world.”
Barhoum stressed that the assassination of resistance leaders would not deter the Palestinian struggle, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his extremist government of rejecting peace and pursuing genocide in Gaza for the past 23 months.
He reaffirmed Hamas’s demands for any ceasefire: a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, a comprehensive prisoner exchange, immediate humanitarian relief, and large-scale reconstruction of the devastated enclave. “No amount of Israeli crimes will force us to surrender. Every martyr strengthens our commitment to liberation,” Barhoum stated.
The attack sparked an outpouring of grief and anger across Qatar. Thousands gathered after Asr prayer on Thursday to attend the funeral of the martyrs at the Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque. In a powerful display of solidarity, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani personally attended the funeral, alongside top government officials.
Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani condemned the airstrike as “an act of state terrorism” and vowed that Qatar would continue its mediation efforts. He called for Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu, to face prosecution at the International Criminal Court for war crimes, including the starvation of Gaza’s population.
Barhoum urged Arab and Muslim leaders to take concrete steps—political, diplomatic, economic, and legal—to hold Israel accountable and protect regional security. He directly blamed the United States for enabling Israel’s aggression through unconditional military and political backing, saying Washington bore moral responsibility for the bloodshed in Doha.
“Hamas extends its gratitude to Qatar for its unwavering support and calls for a unified stance from the Arab and Islamic world,” Barhoum said. “Israel’s attack on Doha is an attack on us all.”
Since 2012, Qatar has hosted Hamas’s political bureau, serving as a vital base for the Palestinian movement’s diplomatic efforts. The airstrike on Qatari soil underscores Israel’s growing willingness to flout international law, attack sovereign nations, and undermine peace efforts.
Despite the losses, Hamas vowed that the resistance would not be broken. “No force on earth can deny our people their right to self-defense and liberation,” Barhoum said, promising that Palestinian steadfastness will only intensify in the wake of this attack.
The Doha strike marks a turning point in the Israeli aggression, highlighting the regional dimension of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the urgent need for a united Muslim response to stop the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. (ILKHA)
