Gaza death toll climbs to 65,141 as Israeli assault enters its second year

The death toll from Israel’s ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to at least 65,141 martyrs since the war began in October 2023, with the majority of victims being women and children, according to medical authorities in the besieged enclave.
Health officials reported that 165,925 others have been injured, many of them suffering life-altering wounds as Israeli bombardment and ground operations continue to devastate Gaza’s already collapsing health system. The figures remain incomplete as thousands of victims are still trapped under the rubble of bombed homes and shelters, unreachable due to the ongoing attacks and lack of heavy rescue equipment.
Since March 18, 2025 — when Israel broke its short-lived ceasefire agreement and resumed its genocidal campaign — at least 12,590 civilians have been killed and 53,884 others wounded, medical sources said.
The last 24 hours alone have seen 79 bodies and 282 injured individuals brought to Gaza hospitals.
Tragedy continues to strike civilians seeking food and water. Over the past day, nine Palestinians were killed and more than 33 wounded while attempting to receive humanitarian aid, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed in aid-related attacks to 1,060, with 7,207 others injured since the start of the blockade-driven famine.
Human rights groups and UN officials have repeatedly warned that Israel’s deliberate targeting of aid distribution sites amounts to collective punishment and could constitute war crimes. The besieged territory’s 2.3 million residents face starvation-level conditions, with international observers warning of a looming famine if unrestricted humanitarian access is not granted.
Despite international calls for a ceasefire, Israel continues to intensify its airstrikes and ground operations across northern and southern Gaza, leveling entire neighborhoods and displacing tens of thousands more civilians into makeshift tent camps. Palestinian Resistance factions have vowed to continue defending the enclave until the aggression ends and the siege is lifted. (ILKHA)
