Afghan Air Force conducts precision strikes on ISIS targets in Pakistan
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that the Afghan Air Force carried out precision airstrikes against Islamic State (ISIS) centers located in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
According to the ministry, the strikes targeted facilities in the Qila Abdollah and Chaghi districts of Balochistan, as well as the Qambarkhil area in Orakzai Agency, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The ministry stated that these locations were being used by ISIS operatives to plan and orchestrate attacks inside Afghan territory.
Preliminary reports from the Ministry of Defense indicate that the operations were successful, with high-value targets destroyed.
“The Afghan Air Force conducted precise strikes on ISIS positions that posed a direct threat to Afghanistan’s national security,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry further vowed to take all necessary measures to eliminate threats to the country, declaring that it would continue decisive actions against any hostile elements seeking to destabilize Afghanistan.
This marks the latest cross-border military operation by Afghan forces against ISIS militants operating from Pakistani soil. Tensions between Kabul and Islamabad have remained high over the issue of cross-border militancy, particularly ISIS-Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) activities.
No immediate comment has been received from Pakistani authorities regarding the strikes. (ILKHA)
