15-year-old Palestinian killed by Israeli occupation forces in West Bank
A Palestinian child was martyred on Monday after being shot by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) during a military raid in the Umm al-Sharayet neighborhood of al-Bireh City in the central occupied West Bank.
According to Palestinian medical sources, 15-year-old Amir Jaber sustained a critical gunshot wound to the head after Israeli forces entered the area. He was rushed to Palestine Hospital in nearby Ramallah, where doctors attempted to save his life. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that its emergency teams provided immediate first aid at the scene before transferring the wounded child to the hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Witnesses reported that Israeli forces carried out operations in the neighborhood amid heightened tensions, with clashes and confrontations breaking out during the raid. Details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting were still emerging at the time of reporting.
The killing of Amir Jaber adds to the growing number of Palestinian casualties in the occupied West Bank, where military raids, arrests, and settler-related violence have intensified in recent months.
According to Palestinian sources, at least 72 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of 2026 in attacks involving Israeli occupation forces and settlers across the West Bank. Hundreds of others have been injured during military incursions, confrontations, and settler assaults.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly expressed concern over the increasing number of child casualties in the occupied Palestinian territories, calling for greater protection of civilians and accountability for violations of international law.
The latest incident has sparked renewed condemnation from Palestinian officials and community leaders, who accused Israeli forces of continuing policies that endanger Palestinian civilians, including children, amid ongoing tensions throughout the occupied territories.
Amir Jaber's death comes as the West Bank continues to witness frequent military operations, road closures, and escalating confrontations, raising fears of further violence and instability in the region. (ILKHA)
