Türkiye condemns Israeli minister’s remarks targeting Erdoğan
Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran condemned remarks by Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Türkiye, describing them as a sign of political desperation ahead of Israel’s upcoming elections.
“Baseless accusations against Türkiye cannot conceal the Israeli government’s record of genocide in Gaza or its continued aggressive policies in our region,” Duran said in a statement.
He also condemned Katz’s explicit death threats against individuals involved in ceasefire and peace negotiations, saying they demonstrated Israel’s disregard for international law and the international community.
Duran said Türkiye would continue, under Erdoğan’s leadership, to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and work for justice and lasting peace.
“Threats, provocations and smear campaigns will not deter our country from its steadfast commitment to upholding what is right and just,” he added. (ILKHA)
