Thousands in Siverek raise their voices for Gaza

Thousands gathered on Sunday in Siverek’s Aksa Square for a mass rally organized by the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation to protest the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza.
The event, which began at 17:30 with a recitation from the Holy Quran, brought together citizens of all ages who came to raise their voices against the genocide and war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation regime.
Waving Palestinian and Tawhid flags and carrying banners that read “Curse on Israel, Support for Palestine,” attendees passionately expressed their outrage at the silence of the international community, particularly the leaders of Muslim and Arab countries.
Mehmet Aydın, a spokesperson for the foundation, delivered a passionate speech highlighting the complicity of some Muslim leaders in their silence. “The puppet leaders of Muslim countries are competing in the humiliation of hosting murderers,” Aydın declared, criticizing their inaction as “rivers of children’s blood” continue to flow in Gaza. He urged the public to take a stand, saying, “We should speak as if we are the only ones left to speak. We should embrace Gaza as if we are the only ones who will embrace it.” Aydın emphasized that while no one expects Muslim nations to wage war or arm Hamas, they must take concrete steps to halt the bloodshed.
The event was charged with emotion as Özlem Agency singers Mustafa Altıntop and Hikmet Kıyançiçek performed stirring anthems celebrating Gaza’s resilience and Palestinian resistance. Attendees waved Palestinian and Tawhid flags, carrying banners with messages like “Curse on Israel, Support for Palestine.” Many donned Palestinian scarves, symbolizing their unwavering solidarity.
Mehmet Göktaş, Honorary President of the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation, also addressed the crowd, condemning the silence of Islamic and Arab leaders. “This resistance is conquering everywhere,” he said, praising Hamas for exposing the hypocrisy of global leaders. “Islam is being revived again, spreading across Europe. Let’s continue the boycott without belittling it,” Göktaş urged, calling for sustained action against Israel’s aggression.
The rally’s guest of honor, Hamas official Suhail Ahmed Hassan Alhandi, delivered a powerful message of defiance. “Despite all the persecution in Gaza, the struggle continues and will continue until victory is achieved,” he declared, inspiring hope among attendees.
A bazaar was held to raise funds for Gaza, reflecting the community’s commitment to tangible support. The event concluded with Özlem Agency artists performing anthems dedicated to Al-Aqsa and Gaza’s resistance, followed by a heartfelt prayer for Palestine’s liberation.
The rally in Siverek stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of solidarity with Palestine, as the people of Şanlıurfa vow to continue their support for Gaza’s fight for justice and freedom. (ILKHA)
