Orphans Foundation brings Eid joy to over 100 children in Batman
As Eid al-Adha approaches, the Batman Provincial Representative Office of the Orphans Foundation (Yetimler Vakfı) brought festive cheer to over 100 orphaned children by distributing new clothes to families in need.
The initiative, supported by local donors, aimed to ensure that these children could celebrate the holiday with joy and dignity.
Yunus Özdemir, a volunteer with the foundation, highlighted the spiritual motivation behind the campaign, citing a hadith: “Have mercy on orphans, protect them, and take care of them so that Allah will have mercy on you.” He added: “As another Eid al-Adha nears, we dressed more than 100 children today. Our biggest goal is to ensure they enter the Eid with joy and hope.”
Expressing gratitude to the philanthropists who made the effort possible, Özdemir reaffirmed the foundation’s ongoing commitment to supporting orphaned children year-round. “We will continue to meet the needs of our orphaned children and be a smile on their faces and hope in their hearts, inshallah,” he said.
The foundation also announced plans to expand its outreach. “Our goal is to reach many more orphan families and provide better assistance to those we already serve, with the continued generosity of our donors,” Özdemir noted.
The Orphans Foundation remains active across Türkiye, particularly during Islamic holidays, offering material and emotional support to orphaned children and their caregivers. This initiative underscores the collective responsibility to uplift the most vulnerable members of society during times of celebration. (ILKHA)
