Nigerien President Abdourahamane Tchiani arrived in Türkiye for an official visit at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, marking a high-level diplomatic engagement between the two countries amid expanding cooperation across Africa.

President Erdoğan formally welcomed his Nigerien counterpart with an official ceremony at the Presidential Complex in Ankara before the two leaders moved on to bilateral meetings expected to focus on political, economic, security, and regional issues.

Turkish officials had earlier announced that the visit would provide an opportunity to comprehensively review relations between Türkiye and Niger and discuss steps aimed at strengthening cooperation in multiple sectors.

The talks are expected to address bilateral partnerships in areas including trade, energy, defense cooperation, and development projects, reflecting Türkiye’s growing engagement across the Sahel region and broader African continent.

Regional and international developments are also expected to feature prominently in discussions, with both sides anticipated to exchange views on evolving security dynamics in West Africa and ongoing geopolitical developments affecting the region.
