Türkiye, Pakistan discuss cooperation in energy sector
Türkiye and Pakistan discussed opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector during talks held in Istanbul between senior officials from both countries.
Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar met with Pakistan's Privatization Minister Muhammad Ali and Minister of State for Power Sardar Awais Leghari to review developments in energy infrastructure and electricity markets.
The discussions focused on strengthening electricity transmission and distribution networks, integrating energy resources into the power grid, and improving market regulations.
The two sides also exchanged views on ongoing reforms in Pakistan's electricity sector and explored areas for closer cooperation.
Experience-sharing and investment opportunities
Bayraktar said Türkiye shared its experience from the transformation of its energy infrastructure over the past 23 years, highlighting the country's efforts to modernize its energy system and expand supply capacity.
He also emphasized the importance of increasing investment and partnership opportunities between Türkiye and Pakistan in the energy field.
The meeting reflected the two countries' efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation and support energy sector development through the exchange of expertise and potential joint projects.(ILKHA)
