Türkiye, Kosovo pledge to deepen trade and strategic cooperation during Bolat’s visit
Türkiye’s Minister of Trade Omer Bolat held high-level talks in Kosovo aimed at strengthening bilateral trade, investment, and strategic cooperation, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to advancing economic ties.
During his official visit, Bolat met with Kosovo’s Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation Mimoza Kusari Lila to review economic relations and explore opportunities for further collaboration. The two sides expressed satisfaction with the bilateral trade volume exceeding $1 billion and agreed to intensify efforts to expand trade and investment.
“We will take strong synergy further”
In a separate meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, the longstanding relations between the two countries and their economic reflections were discussed.
Officials emphasized a shared determination to elevate bilateral ties, highlighting a “strong synergy” based on mutual trust and partnership.
The talks also covered potential cooperation in major infrastructure projects, including those linked to the 2030 Mediterranean Games, with Turkish contractors expressing readiness to take part. Both sides underlined their commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including the defense industry.
Attention was also drawn to Türkiye’s support and proposals regarding the planned Pristina–New York flight route, seen as a strategic step to enhance international connectivity.
Emphasis on regional stability
As part of his visit, Bolat also visited the headquarters of the NATO-led KFOR mission and met with its commander, Major General Ozkan Ulutas.
The meeting highlighted the importance of international cooperation in ensuring lasting stability in the Balkans, with both sides stressing that maintaining regional peace remains a top priority.
Kosovo officials, including Prime Minister Kurti and Deputy Prime Minister Fikrim Damka, also pointed to the historical and cultural ties between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations.(ILKHA)
