Yemeni forces target Lod Airport with hypersonic missile in support of Gaza

The Israeli occupation military announced early Tuesday that it detected and intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, triggering sirens in multiple cities across central occupied Palestine at around 1:00 a.m. local time.
The incident marks another long-range Yemeni strike in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) have vowed to continue military operations until Israel ends its aggression on Gaza and lifts the ongoing siege.
In a statement, YAF spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed that Yemen’s missile force had carried out a targeted strike on Lod Airport in the occupied Yafa region using a “Palestine 2” hypersonic ballistic missile. Saree claimed the strike achieved its objectives, disrupting airport operations and sending “millions of settlers fleeing to shelters.”
“This operation comes as a victory for the oppressed Palestinian people and their mujahideen, a response to the crimes of genocide and starvation in Gaza, and a reaction to the Zionist incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Saree declared.
Yemen has also maintained a naval blockade on Israeli-linked shipping, effectively disrupting key Red Sea–Arabian Sea maritime routes.
The missile strike on Lod Airport came on the heels of a series of Yemeni drone operations earlier in the week. On Sunday, Saree announced that the Yemeni Armed Forces’ unmanned air force had carried out three distinct drone strikes targeting military installations in Tel Aviv (Yafa) and Askalan, as well as the port of Haifa in northern occupied Palestine.
Saree stressed that these operations are part of Yemen’s continued military solidarity with Gaza, aimed at pressuring Israel to halt its military campaign and starvation policy.
“Yemen, its loyal people, faithful leadership, and resisting army will not abandon its religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibilities toward the Palestinian people, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Gaza,” Saree said.
The latest wave of Yemeni operations underscores the expanding regional dimensions of the war on Gaza, as armed groups from across the region escalate military pressure in response to Israel’s actions. (ILKHA)
