Six Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes on Khan Younis amid ongoing Gaza violence
At least six Palestinians, including a young girl, were killed late Saturday night after Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to local reports.
The strikes also left four others injured, as Israeli forces intensified military operations across multiple areas in the enclave.
In addition to the air raids, Israeli forces launched heavy artillery shelling and opened fire toward eastern areas of Gaza, targeting open land, residential outskirts, and shelters housing displaced civilians.
Israeli naval vessels also fired toward the coast of Khan Younis, raising fears for the safety of fishermen and displaced families seeking refuge along the shoreline. No immediate injuries were reported from the naval fire.
Further attacks were reported in central Gaza, where Israeli warplanes opened fire toward eastern parts of the Al-Bureij refugee camp.
The latest fatalities bring the total number of Palestinians killed since the ceasefire declared on October 11, 2025, to 698, with more than 18,100 others injured, according to available figures.
In addition, 756 bodies have reportedly been recovered during the same period, highlighting the continuing humanitarian toll despite the ceasefire agreement.
The renewed violence underscores the fragile nature of the ceasefire and the persistent risks facing civilians across Gaza. Aid agencies have repeatedly warned of worsening humanitarian conditions as hostilities continue to flare in different parts of the territory.
The situation remains volatile, with continued military activity raising concerns about further escalation and civilian casualties in the days ahead. (ILKHA)
