Pezeshkian: Muslim nations must stand together against Israeli crimes

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Qatar, urging Muslim countries to adopt a united and practical stance against Israeli regime’s crimes.
The attacks, which targeted Hamas leaders meeting in Doha to discuss a U.S. ceasefire proposal for Gaza, have drawn sharp criticism from Tehran and regional partners.
In a telephone conversation with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Pezeshkian expressed Iran’s full solidarity with Qatar, declaring that the Islamic Republic stands firmly with its Persian Gulf neighbor in the face of Israeli aggression.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran stands alongside its brothers in Qatar and will take any necessary step to support its close neighbor and friend,” Pezeshkian said.
The Iranian president warned that Israel, under the pretext of self-defense, has destabilized the entire region and shown no hesitation in committing atrocities. He called on Muslim countries to speak and act with unity and resolve, emphasizing that a consistent and practical condemnation of Israel is necessary to prevent future attacks.
“Israel respects no international norms or legal frameworks, and its actions continue only because of American backing,” Pezeshkian noted.
Sheikh Tamim thanked Pezeshkian for his solidarity, echoing concerns over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unchecked aggression. The Qatari leader revealed that Hamas officials had been reviewing a ceasefire proposal from the U.S. when the Israeli strike occurred.
“In our consultations with them, they said they would give a positive response, but regrettably Israel attacked the very meeting where this was being discussed,” Sheikh Tamim said.
He emphasized the importance of regional coordination among Muslim nations to halt Israeli aggression, calling for intensified dialogue with Iran and other Islamic countries in the coming days.
President Pezeshkian also condemned the strike as illegal, anti-human, and anti-peace, noting that it targeted the Palestinian resistance and destroyed every effort for diplomacy.
“The Zionist regime recognizes no limits for crime and terror and on the other hand destroys every effort for diplomacy,” Pezeshkian said.
He urged the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other international bodies to deliver an immediate and firm response to the assault, emphasizing that lasting peace in the region can only be achieved by ending occupation and aggression.
The deadly strike in Doha, which reportedly killed five Hamas members, has sparked international outrage and renewed calls for the protection of Palestinian leaders and civilians. Tehran’s condemnation underscores the growing demand for Muslim solidarity against Israel’s ongoing violations and attacks across the Middle East. (ILKHA)
