The workshop’s inaugural ceremony was attended by senior MoPH officials, including Alhaj Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Halim, Director General of the Ministry’s Office; Dr. Sayed Rasool Mangal, Director General of Policy and Planning; Mawlawi Saifullah Moavia, Executive Director of Health Center Accreditation; Dr. Mirwais Ahmadzai, Director of Health Financing and Economics; several central directors; as well as representatives from the World Health Organization and members of private hospitals.
Dr. Sayed Rasool Mangal stressed the broader benefits of hospital accreditation, noting: “The accreditation and grading of private hospitals is not only beneficial for patients but also of great importance for hospital staff and managers. This process will enhance the capacity of employees, improve management systems, and ensure better utilization of resources.”
Similarly, Mawlawi Saifullah Moavia underlined that accrediting private hospitals is key to improving the quality of health services and promoting transparency within the sector.
The three-day workshop will provide participants with detailed guidance on national accreditation standards, their value, and methods of implementation, aiming to strengthen the overall quality and accountability of private healthcare institutions in Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
