Mujahid urges government departments to strengthen cooperation with media
Islamic Emirate spokesman Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid says timely access to accurate information is essential to preventing rumours and keeping the public informed.
Mawlavi Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for Afghanistan’s Islamic Emirate, has called on government departments to strengthen their cooperation with the media, stressing that timely and accurate information is key to preventing the spread of rumours.
Speaking at a coordination meeting with journalists in Kandahar, Mujahid said the media had made progress compared with the past and emphasised the need for closer cooperation between government officials and journalists.
He urged spokesmen for Islamic Emirate departments to maintain regular communication with media outlets and provide journalists with relevant information without delay.
Mujahid also stressed that the Islamic Emirate had no intention of censoring the media, underscoring the importance of cooperation in ensuring the public receives reliable information.
He further alleged that certain foreign circles were seeking to create an atmosphere of insecurity for Afghanistan’s media, but said their efforts would ultimately fail.
Mujahid’s remarks underscored the importance of timely communication between government institutions and journalists in addressing public concerns and preventing misinformation. (ILKHA)
