An Israeli warplane struck the ground floor of the al-Asala building near the Haidar Abdul-Shafi roundabout in western Gaza City, killing five civilians and injuring several others, the sources said.
The victims were identified as Mary Abu Dawoud and her daughter, Maysa Abu Dawoud, both members of Gaza’s Christian community; elderly woman Haloum al-Bono; her daughter, Dr. Yasamin al-Bobo; and Bilal Odeh.
The attack added to the civilian casualties in Gaza, where residential areas continue to face Israeli military operations.
In central Gaza, another civilian was injured when an Israeli drone opened fire on residents east of the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to local reports.
Meanwhile, several areas across the besieged territory witnessed continued Israeli military activity on Saturday, including gunfire, artillery shelling, drone overflights and the demolition of buildings.
The latest attacks underscore the continuing dangers facing Palestinian civilians across the Gaza Strip, where repeated bombardments and military operations have devastated residential areas and inflicted a heavy toll on the population. (ILKHA)
