Israeli regime shells Gaza Strip in latest ceasefire violation
Israeli regime forces resumed artillery bombardment and air raids on several eastern Gaza neighborhoods despite the ceasefire agreement that took effect on Oct. 10.
According to field sources, Israeli occuaption forces launched artillery attacks and conducted air raids early on Tuesday against eastern Gaza, firing from positions where occupation forces are stationed under the ceasefire framework.
Heavy tank fire was reported in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, where the area was simultaneously targeted by air strikes. Similar attacks were also reported in the eastern areas of Rafah and Khan Younis, as well as the eastern outskirts of the Al-Bureij refugee camp.
Eyewitnesses said that occupation military vehicles carried out intense bombardment in the northeastern parts of Al-Bureij camp, firing indiscriminately at surrounding areas. In eastern Gaza City, air strikes were reported to have coincided with continuous artillery shelling, causing fear and destruction among residents.
Since the ceasefire came into effect, the Zionist regime has committed hundreds of violations, including bombardment, live fire, and systematic destruction. As a result of these violations, 391 Palestinians have been martyred and 1,063 others injured since October 11, according to local sources.
The ceasefire agreement had formally halted the Zionist regime’s genocidal offensive that began on October 8, 2023 and lasted for more than two years. During that period, more than 70,000 Palestinians were martyred and over 171,000 others were wounded across the Gaza Strip. The United Nations has estimated that the cost of rebuilding Gaza will exceed $70 billion.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump announced that 59 countries are prepared to participate in a so-called “stability force” in Gaza. Trump also stated that Washington is assessing whether the Zionist regime’s killing of Qassam Brigades commander Raed Saad constitutes a violation of the ceasefire.(ILKHA)
