Israeli captive says Netanyahu has no interest in rescue

The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas, have released a new video featuring Israeli captive Alon Ohel, held in Gaza for more than 700 days.
The footage, published Monday, sheds light on what the Resistance describes as the direct result of “Netanyahu’s intransigence and refusal to reach an agreement.”
In the video, Ohel is seen watching remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claiming he is “trying to find an innovative way to bring back all the living detainees.” Reacting to the statement, the captive ridiculed Netanyahu’s words, asking: “What is this talk? Does anyone still believe Netanyahu?”
The captive then turned his words directly to his family, apologizing for their suffering. “I know you are suffering because of me, and unfortunately, supporting prisoners has become a crime… I apologize for asking more of you than you can handle,” he said. Ohel also denounced the repression of families of captives inside the occupation entity: “I know that Ben-Gvir’s police are treating you like criminals.”
Calling on his relatives and the wider public not to stop protesting, Ohel warned that the Israeli government has abandoned its own people. “The captives’ fate is being sealed and these are our final days. We have become a burden for the government. They will keep killing us until no one is left alive,” he declared, urging mass pressure to halt Netanyahu’s reckless war.
In a striking appeal, the captive addressed U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, pleading: “I implore you, do not assist Netanyahu in killing the prisoners. Stop supporting Netanyahu’s insane decisions in his war against the Israeli people and the prisoners.”
The release of the video comes at a tense moment, as the Zionist occupation forces push deeper into Gaza City with a large-scale military operation. Despite overwhelming firepower, the invading forces continue to face fierce resistance from Palestinian fighters who remain determined to defend their land.
The video underscores the growing crisis within Israeli society, where the families of captives have repeatedly accused Netanyahu’s government of deliberately abandoning their loved ones for political survival. Many Israeli analysts themselves admit that Netanyahu views the captives as a burden rather than a priority, fearing that any negotiated exchange would empower the Palestinian Resistance and expose his own political failures.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Resistance has consistently made clear that the fate of detainees lies squarely in the hands of Netanyahu, who continues to reject mediated prisoner-exchange deals. For Palestinians, the video highlights both the hypocrisy of the Israeli regime and the power of the Resistance in shaping the course of the conflict. (ILKHA)
