Iran's IRGC says US Navy moved 1,000 km away from Iranian coast
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reaffirmed that US Navy vessels have moved approximately 1,000 kilometers away from Iran's coastline, attributing the withdrawal to Iran's military capabilities.
According to Iran's Press TV, IRGC spokesman Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said that US forces had moved more than 1,000 kilometers away from Iran's borders, underlining that the move was not a voluntary decision by Washington but the result of Iran's military power and the capabilities of the IRGC.
"The Americans fled and moved more than 1,000 kilometers away from our borders. This was not their choice; it happened due to the power of the Islamic Republic and the strength of the IRGC," Fadavi said.
Fadavi also noted that, for the first time, there were no US naval vessels present in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman or the northern Indian Ocean. He further stated that US warships would be "100 per cent vulnerable" to missile attacks by the IRGC.
The IRGC commander's remarks came amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, including disputes over maritime security and restrictions affecting Iranian ports.
US Central Command has previously said it was enforcing measures against vessels attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports, while Tehran has continued to criticize US naval activities in the region.(ILKHA)
