Ghalibaf: Era of cost-free threats against Iran has come to an end
Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has declared that Iran's response to recent hostilities by the United States and the Israeli regime demonstrates a new reality in the region: threats and aggression against the Islamic Republic will no longer go unanswered.
In a message marking the anniversary of the passing of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, Ghalibaf emphasized that the principles of independence, resistance, and national dignity championed by Imam Khomeini continue to guide Iran's policies and strategic outlook.
According to Ghalibaf, the ongoing confrontation involving Iran, the United States, and Israel has highlighted the country's determination to defend its sovereignty and national interests. He argued that Iran's actions have shown that any attempt to pressure or threaten the nation will carry significant consequences.
"The era in which Iran could be threatened without paying a price has ended," Ghalibaf stated, adding that any future aggression would be met with what he described as a decisive and proportional response.
The parliament speaker also recalled Imam Khomeini's longstanding opposition to American influence and domination, noting that the late revolutionary leader consistently stressed the importance of preserving Iran's independence and resisting foreign pressure.
Ghalibaf said that the Iranian people have remained faithful to these ideals and have demonstrated resilience in the face of external challenges. He maintained that the Islamic Republic's strength stems from the revolutionary principles established by Imam Khomeini and upheld by successive generations.
Referring to the legacy of the Islamic Revolution, Ghalibaf stated that although Imam Khomeini and the revolution's senior leaders are no longer physically present, their vision continues to inspire millions of Iranians serving the country in defense, development, public service, and various social and political spheres.
He concluded that the revolutionary path remains alive and that Iran's commitment to safeguarding its independence and confronting external pressure continues to shape the nation's future. (ILKHA)
