Gaza Health Ministry reports 377 killed since ceasefire amid rising Israeli violations
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Tuesday that Israeli occupation forces continue to violate the declared ceasefire, killing 377 Palestinians and injuring 987 others since the truce took effect on 11 October.
Despite the agreement, Israeli attacks have persisted across several areas of the besieged enclave, targeting civilians, residential neighborhoods and displaced families seeking shelter.
According to the ministry’s latest update, one Palestinian was martyred and six others wounded in the past 24 hours as Israel intensified drone strikes, gunfire and artillery shelling around civilian-populated zones. Health officials warned that the recorded figures do not reflect the true scale of the tragedy, as rescue teams remain unable to reach many affected areas.
The ministry further confirmed that 626 bodies have been recovered from beneath the rubble since the ceasefire was announced. Civil defense crews report that the number is expected to rise sharply due to Israel’s continued obstruction of emergency responders and the destruction of key access routes.
“Many victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings and in open streets,” the statement noted, emphasizing that ambulance teams are routinely blocked from reaching wounded civilians.
The continuous Israeli assaults on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, have resulted in a devastating human toll, with updated figures reporting that the total number of martyrs has reached 70,366 and the number of wounded has climbed to 171,064.
These numbers align with casualty assessments reported by several international and regional outlets, including Al Jazeera, which has repeatedly highlighted Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire and the mounting humanitarian toll on Gaza’s population.
Humanitarian agencies warn that the enclave is descending into an unprecedented catastrophe. The collapse of Gaza’s health system — compounded by widespread infrastructure destruction, the absence of safe zones, and ongoing military pressure — continues to expose civilians to mortal danger.
Aid organizations stress that without immediate international intervention and unhindered humanitarian access, the death toll is likely to climb as thousands remain at risk amid worsening conditions.(ILKHA)
