Turkish presidency communications chief voices solidarity with Palestine after Konya match
Turkish Presidency Communications Director Burhanettin Duran expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people following an evening football match between Konyaspor and the Palestine national team in Konya.
“Tonight in Konya, there was much more than football on the pitch; our hearts were with Palestine,” Duran said in a message shared on his NSosyal account.
Duran described the match as an occasion that demonstrated the ability of sport to bring people together across borders and said “humanity was the winner.”
He said Türkiye was pleased to host the Palestinian players, adding that the match represented not only a sporting event but also a gesture of friendship and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
“Under the leadership of our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, we will continue to stand with Palestine, to keep the immense suffering in Gaza in our thoughts, and to support the Palestinian people in their just struggle,” Duran said.
He expressed hope that the solidarity message from Konya would reach Gaza, Jerusalem and other parts of Palestine. (ILKHA)
