Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to visit Ukraine
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to pay an official visit to Ukraine on 15–16 July 2026, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that Fidan's visit will take place over two days as part of Türkiye's ongoing diplomatic engagement with Ukraine.
"Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, will pay a visit to Ukraine on 15-16 July 2026," the ministry said.
The visit comes as Türkiye continues to pursue active diplomacy aimed at promoting regional stability and maintaining dialogue with both Ukraine and Russia amid the ongoing conflict.
During his stay, Fidan is expected to hold talks with senior Ukrainian officials on bilateral relations, regional and international developments, and the latest situation surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war.
The discussions are also expected to cover Türkiye's efforts to support diplomatic initiatives, facilitate negotiations between the parties, and contribute to achieving a just and lasting peace.
As a NATO member maintaining diplomatic channels with both Kyiv and Moscow, Türkiye has played a significant mediating role since the conflict began, including facilitating previous rounds of negotiations, supporting prisoner exchanges, and helping broker agreements on Black Sea maritime security and grain exports.
The visit underscores Ankara's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Ukraine while continuing its balanced diplomatic approach to resolving the conflict through dialogue and peaceful means. (ILKHA)
