Turkish FM Hakan Fidan meets U.S. ambassador Tom Barrack in Ankara
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan received Tom Barrack, the United States Ambassador to Türkiye and Special Envoy for Syria, in Ankara, where the two officials held talks on key regional developments.
According to diplomatic sources, the meeting focused on the latest situation in Syria, including political and security developments, as well as humanitarian concerns. Discussions also addressed recent developments within the framework of the “Gaza Peace Plan,” reflecting ongoing diplomatic efforts related to the conflict in Gaza.
The talks come amid heightened regional tensions and continued international engagement on both the Syrian crisis and the situation in Gaza. Türkiye has repeatedly emphasized the need for a political solution in Syria and a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, alongside increased humanitarian access.
Minister Fidan and Ambassador Barrack last met on November 14, underlining the continuity of high-level diplomatic engagement between Ankara and Washington on regional issues of mutual concern. (ILKHA)
