ITTIHADUL ULEMA urges unity and solidarity in Eid al-Adha message

The Union of Scholars and Madrasahs (ITTIHADUL ULEMA) issued a heartfelt Eid al-Adha message, calling on Muslims worldwide to embrace unity, compassion, and solidarity during the sacred holiday.
The organization emphasized the spiritual significance of the occasion, urging believers to deepen their servitude to Allah, support the needy, and pray for oppressed communities, particularly in Palestine.
In its statement, ITTIHADUL ULEMA expressed gratitude to Allah for enabling Muslims to reach another Eid al-Adha in health, prosperity, and faith. The organization described the holiday as a blessed time when “not only meat and blood but also piety, submission, and servitude reach Allah.” Highlighting the worship of sacrifice, the message drew inspiration from the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail (peace be upon them), stating, “Sacrifice is a tremendous example of servitude, blending the loyalty and submission of Hazrat Ibrahim with the tawakkul and obedience of Hazrat Ismail. It is a stance against worldliness, a sharing that reinforces brotherhood, and a symbol of getting closer to Allah.”
The organization called on Muslims to make the holiday meaningful by supporting the poor, orphans, and madrasa students through acts of charity. “We must perform the worship of sacrifice to bring joy to those in need and deeply realize its spiritual meaning,” the statement read. ITTIHADUL ULEMA emphasized that Eid is a time to end grudges, renew friendships, strengthen family ties, and unite the ummah. “We should visit our relatives, end resentments, and pray for each other with the awareness of the ummah,” it added.
The message also extended prayers to pilgrims currently performing Hajj in the holy lands, asking Allah to grant them mercy, forgiveness, and a blessed pilgrimage. “We wish that the pilgrimage of our pilgrims will be mebrur and their prayers acceptable, and we say ‘amen’ to their prayers for the ummah,” the statement noted.
ITTIHADUL ULEMA underscored the importance of remembering Allah through the takbirs of tashrik during Eid al-Adha, encouraging Muslims to “adorn our tongues with takbir and our hearts with taqwa.” The organization also made a poignant appeal to include oppressed communities, especially those in Palestine, in Eid prayers. “We should not forget our brothers and sisters under persecution and work for unity and solidarity to relieve the tears of the oppressed,” the statement urged.
Concluding its message, ITTIHADUL ULEMA prayed for the glory of the Ummah of Muhammad, strength for the oppressed, and unity for Muslims worldwide. “May Allah Almighty grant glory to the Ummah, strength to the oppressed, and unity and solidarity to all. May your Eid al-Adha be blessed,” the message ended.
The call for compassion and solidarity resonates deeply as Muslims gather in Mina for Hajj and celebrate Eid al-Adha, reflecting on sacrifice and unity amidst global challenges facing the ummah. (ILKHA)
