President Erdoğan issues Eid Message emphasizing unity, peace, and reform

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a comprehensive and heartfelt message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, emphasizing national unity, regional stability, and Türkiye’s continued fight against terrorism.
In his address, President Erdoğan also highlighted economic progress, humanitarian concerns, and his aspirations for peace and solidarity across the Islamic world.
“Toward a Terror-Free Türkiye”
At the core of the message was President Erdoğan’s call for a “terror-free Türkiye.” He stated that the government has laid a stronger foundation in areas of economy, foreign policy, and security by intensifying efforts to eradicate terrorism. Referring to recent progress, Erdoğan said, “After the organization’s decision to dissolve itself and lay down arms, we have entered a new phase... We will, inshallah, free our country all together from a 50-year-long scourge.”
He underscored the importance of national support in this ongoing mission, promising that Türkiye would never tolerate initiatives that dishonor the memory of its martyrs or harm their families. “We will all embrace a stronger and more efficient future once we achieve the goal of a terror-free Türkiye in peace,” he affirmed.
A Message of Unity and Charity During Eid
Erdoğan began his message by extending warm wishes to citizens and the broader Muslim world, praying for their sacrifices and prayers to be accepted. “May almighty Allah enable us to observe many Eids with health, peace, well-being and a sound heart,” he said.
Describing Eid as a time to revive national unity and social compassion, he encouraged citizens to deepen bonds through charitable acts. “I wholeheartedly believe that each and every one of our 86 million citizens will make the most of this atmosphere and beautify it with charity and benevolence activities.”
Solidarity with Gaza, Sudan, and Other Conflict Zones
The president extended a special greeting to the people of Gaza, praising their “epic fight” and “dignified resistance” in the face of Israeli aggression. He offered condolences for those killed and prayers for the injured. “I remember with grace all my Gazan brothers and sisters, who died a martyr’s death,” he said.
Erdoğan also voiced concern over conflicts in Sudan and Somalia, expressing hope for a swift end to regional instability. “We as Türkiye do our utmost in order for the genocide in Palestine to be stopped, and for the war between Russia and Ukraine to be ended with a just peace.”
He referred to a recent meeting in Istanbul as a “historic step” toward resolving the Ukraine conflict and commended efforts by the new Syrian administration toward national unity and stability.
Economic Outlook and Earthquake Recovery
Erdoğan pointed to the early signs of success from Türkiye’s macroeconomic stability and reform program, particularly in controlling inflation. “We are determinedly implementing the economy policies that will minimize the repercussions of the fluctuations in global markets,” he said.
He also updated the public on ongoing recovery from last year’s devastating earthquake. To date, over 201,000 housing units have been handed over to affected families, with an additional 252,000 homes and workplaces expected to be delivered by year’s end.
Political Unity and National Brotherhood
In a pointed comment, Erdoğan criticized the main opposition party, suggesting it had become increasingly isolated. He expressed hope that political divisions would heal, particularly during national celebrations. “Our hope is that the insistence on the wrong path will end as soon as possible,” he said. “Because, as we state at billboards all across our country, ‘Our name is brotherhood, and our surname is Türkiye.’”
Concluding his message, Erdoğan reiterated his prayers for a blessed Eid and called on citizens traveling during the holiday to observe traffic rules strictly. “May my Lord accept the prayers and worships of all our brothers and sisters, who are in the sacred lands for their Hajj duties,” he said. “I once again greet you with respect and affection, and wish a happy Eid to all of you. Eid al-Adha Mubarak!” (ILKHA)
