HÜDA PAR vows unwavering support for Palestinian resistance on 1000th day of Gaza genocide
As Israel's genocidal on Gaza entered its 1,000th day, HÜDA PAR Mersin Provincial President Salih Demir renewed his party's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, stressing that Gaza must never be forgotten and calling for stronger action in solidarity with the besieged enclave.
Speaking to İLKHA, Demir emphasized that the ongoing suffering in Gaza is not merely a humanitarian crisis but a matter of faith, justice, and solidarity with an oppressed people facing genocide and occupation.
"Gaza and Palestine Are Our Red Line"
Declaring that the Palestinian cause is inseparable from HÜDA PAR's political and moral stance, Demir said the party will continue to raise its voice for Gaza on every available platform.
"Gaza is HÜDA PAR's red line. The Palestinian issue, the Gaza issue, and the cause of Hamas are our cause," he said, noting that the party's leadership, lawmakers, and provincial organizations have consistently stood alongside the Palestinian people.
Demir pledged that HÜDA PAR would continue to highlight the plight of Palestinians and advocate for their rights until justice is achieved and the suffering in Gaza comes to an end.
"What Has Been Done So Far Is Not Enough"
Reflecting on the numerous solidarity activities carried out in support of Gaza, Demir acknowledged that more must be done.
He pointed to press conferences, marches, social media campaigns, and humanitarian aid drives organized throughout Türkiye, but stressed that such efforts remain insufficient when measured against the scale of the tragedy unfolding in Gaza.
According to Demir, Muslims in Mersin and across the country have sought to amplify the voices of Palestinians through public advocacy and charitable initiatives, yet the enormity of the crisis demands even greater mobilization.
Call for Stronger Action from Muslim Countries
Demir also criticized the response of many Muslim-majority countries, arguing that a firmer and more unified stance could have helped prevent the devastating consequences witnessed in Gaza today.
He maintained that the issue should not be viewed solely through the lens of political interests or diplomatic calculations, but rather as a collective responsibility of the Muslim Ummah.
"If Muslim countries had taken a clear and determined position in support of Gaza, this genocide would not have reached this point," he said, urging leaders to prioritize justice and solidarity over political considerations.
Dual Citizenship Debate Raised
Addressing a legislative proposal currently awaiting discussion in the Turkish Parliament, Demir called for legal measures against individuals holding dual citizenship who serve in the Israeli military.
He argued that those participating in military operations against Palestinians should not be able to continue their lives in Türkiye without facing consequences.
The HÜDA PAR official noted that proposals on the matter have been submitted and preliminary discussions held, but emphasized the need for parliamentary action.
"Words Must Be Backed by Action"
Demir called on political parties, civil society organizations, and all sectors of society to intensify their efforts in support of Gaza.
While acknowledging the solidarity initiatives already undertaken, he argued that the response has not matched the resilience and sacrifice demonstrated by Palestinians enduring bombardment, displacement, and siege.
He also pointed out that some demonstrations held in Western countries have generated significant international attention, suggesting that more impactful actions could be organized throughout the Muslim world.
Keeping Gaza at the Forefront
Concluding his remarks, Demir appealed to political leaders, civil society groups, state institutions, and Islamic nations to ensure that Gaza remains a constant priority.
He urged continued participation in boycott campaigns, public demonstrations, awareness initiatives, and humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting Palestinians and keeping international attention focused on the crisis.
As Gaza marks 1,000 days under relentless assault, Demir reiterated that solidarity with Palestine must remain steadfast, calling on Muslims around the world to continue standing with the people of Gaza until they secure their rights, freedom, and justice. (ILKHA)
